Tokyo's ocean
Tokyo's ocean
The museum exhibits creatures from the "Tokyo Sea," which stretches from the subtropical Ogasawara Islands through the Izu Seven Islands to Tokyo Bay. It displays a variety of creatures living in diverse environments, including the dwarf Wrought Iron Butterflyfish, which is a fish that emerges from the water to live on rocks, the Japanese Blenny, and Shuttles Hoppfish, fish that live in muddy tidal flats. From the catwalk on the second floor, you can look down into the aquarium tanks and tour the backstage area.
