Tonton, born at Ueno Zoo, was bred with Shuanshuan from Chapultepec Zoo in Mexico. Because he made three round trips to Mexico, he was also called "the panda that has flown the most on airplanes in the world."

These are Giant Panda from Chapultepec Zoo in Mexico. Ling Ling traveled to Mexico three times to breed, and then Shuang Shuang came from Mexico to Japan and stayed at Ueno Zoo for about a year and ten months. However, breeding did not materialize, and they returned to Mexico.
He was a very long-lived panda, living to the age of 35.

They came to the zoo in 2011 as part of a Giant Panda breeding research project with the China Wildlife Conservation Society. They were the first to successfully breed naturally at Ueno Zoo, and also successfully raised the first pair of twins Ueno Zoo.
In September 2024, she was returned to China along with Li Li.

This is Shinshin and Riri's second cub. It is the first cub at Ueno Zoo to be born through natural breeding and grow up safely.
