Access

Ueno Zoo is located within Ueno Park. The zoo is divided into East Garden and West Garden. There are three entrances to Ueno Zoo (marked with yellow circles on the map), but the congestion levels and nearby animal exhibits vary.

If you have free admission or an annual pass, please proceed to the ticket gate without purchasing an admission ticket.

Admission tickets have no expiration date. If you do not enter the park on the day of purchase, you can use them at a later date (Annual Passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase).

There is no parking lot at Ueno Zoo, so we recommend taking the train.
The nearest parking lots are as follows. Please note that on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the parking lots may fill up early.
