On April 10, 2026, one male toucan that had been kept at Ueno Zoo was transferred to Adventure World in Wakayama Prefecture.

A single toucan is sitting indoors on a sandy area. Its beak is disproportionately large. The beak is yellow to orange in color, with a black pattern near the tip.

This male bird arrived at Ueno Zoo in 2017. It had been on display in the birdcage and Bird House, but due to the rebuilding of Bird House as the facilities deteriorated, its exhibition ended in June 2025, and it has been kept in a non-public area since then.

With this removal, the keeping of toucans at Ueno Zoo has come to an end.
