Bird exhibits in Bird House and birdcages
└─ 2025/05/02 (Updated 2026/10/13)
Bird House at Ueno Zoo closed on June 15, 2025, for reconstruction due to the aging of the facility. The birds kept in the bird cages were also removed from display on June 18, 2025. Future plans include redevelopment aimed at creating a better exhibition and living environment for the birds.

Bird migration has begun (more details here).

The final day Bird House will be open is Sunday, June 15, 2025, and the final day the bird cages will be on display is Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Please see the relocation schedule. We appreciate your understanding as the number of exhibited species is gradually decreasing.

In conjunction with the closure Bird House, we will be holding the "Thank You, Bird House Exhibition." Please see here for details.
