Giant Panda "Xiao Xiao" and "Lei Lei" get their final viewing

The road closure times for some of the park paths have been updated.

As previously announced, Giant Panda Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei will be returned to China on January 27th. Please see below for more information regarding this.

The viewing of Giant Panda "Xiao Xiao" and "Lei Lei" has ended

Sunday, January 25th marked the end of viewing the two Giant Panda. We would like to thank everyone who has warmly watched over the growth of Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei. The two pandas will depart Ueno Zoo on January 27th, the day after tomorrow, for their breeding facility in China. We hope you will continue to give them a warm send-off until the very end.

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, some park paths will be temporarily closed for the removal of Giant Panda. Detours will be available during the closure period.

Shuttle bus service suspension on Tuesday, January 27th

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, shuttle bus service will be suspended all day due to the removal of Giant Panda.
