We will be moving African White-backed Vulture to Mandai Bird Paradise (Singapore).

We would like to inform you that one female African White-backed Vulture from Ueno Ueno Zoo will be transferred to "Mandai Bird Paradise" in Singapore.

At East Garden of Ueno Zoo, they are raising a pair of African White-backed Vulture and their offspring (one male and one female).
We are pleased to announce that our female offspring will be moved to Bird Paradise on a breeding loan (*) in order to help her form a new pair. Bird Paradise currently has two male birds.

*Regarding breeding loans

This refers to a contract for the loan of animals for breeding purposes.
The aim is to encourage the formation of new pairs and contribute to breeding by moving individuals between zoos.

The exhibition of African White-backed Vulture at Ueno Zoo ended on August 23, 2026 (Sunday). The transfer date is scheduled for October 1, 2026 (Thursday), and it is currently being kept in a non-public facility at Ueno Zoo for quarantine before departure.
