We are recruiting participants for the World Tiger Day event for junior high school students, "That One Step Can Save the Tigers!? Learn About and Protect the Tiger Forest," co-hosted by Ueno Zoo and WWF Japan on July 29th! (Application deadline: July 5th)
event
June 22, 2026
Every year on July 29th, it is World Tiger Day. World Tiger Day is a day to learn about the current situation of tigers in the wild, which are an endangered species, and to think about what we can do to ensure their survival in the future.
Ueno Zoo and WWF Japan will be hosting a workshop-style event for junior high school students on the theme of tiger conservation. At the event, participants will learn about the reasons for the decline in tiger populations and their connection to our lives, together with animal keeper and WWF staff involved in conservation activities in tiger habitats, and consider "what we can do to protect tigers."
What does it mean to "protect tigers"?
What can we do in our daily lives?
What kind of "jobs" are involved in nature conservation and wildlife?
We want all of you who are about to spread your wings and venture out into society to take the "first step" in thinking about the future of tigers.
This event was created with those feelings in mind. Middle school students, please apply!
