Ueno Zoo will open the Ikenohata Gate in West Garden at 9:30 a.m. starting February 3, 2026 (Tuesday).

Ueno Zoo will open the Ikenohata Gate in West Garden at 10:00 AM starting Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Announcement dated September 21, 2022
At Ueno Zoo, Starting October 1, 2022 (Saturday) We will resume admission from West Garden and Ikenohata Gate.

Since West Garden /Ikenohata Gate faces a public road, there is no waiting area for visitors. Therefore, for the time being, to avoid the times when congestion is expected before and after opening hours, The gates open at 10:30. Please note that this differs from the opening times (9:30 AM) for East Garden Main Gate and West Garden Benten Gate.

Points to note
If you are coming by bicycle, please use the bicycle parking area near the baseball field in Ueno Park.

Request to help distribute congestion
Due to crowds on weekends and public holidays, there may be waiting times for entry and ticket purchases. Please also use East Garden Main Gate and West Garden Benten Gate.
