Wild Bird Forest and Japanese Bird House
The museum exhibits a wide variety of birds native to Japan, from small birds with beautiful song, such as Japanese bush warblers and Japanese white-eyes, to birds of prey such as Ural Owl and Peregrine Falcon. Copper Pheasant, a species endemic to Japan, is characterized by its long tail feathers and red skin around its eyes, and becomes particularly colorful during the breeding season in early spring to court females. The rare Japanese snail Land Snail, found in the Ogasawara Islands, can also be seen in this corner.
