Latest video: The blooming of the dogtooth violet
The characteristic feature of the dogtooth violet is that it blooms facing downwards, with its six petals strongly curved back.
In line with the ecology of the insects that help with pollination, the flowers open when the temperature reaches around 15°C on sunny days, and close in the evening or on bad weather days to prevent energy loss and ensure efficient pollination.
