September 13th is International Slow Loris Day.

This day was established by a slow loris conservation group to raise awareness of the importance of protecting slow lorises and to increase interest in conservation, coinciding with the day when slow lorises were moved from Appendix II, which requires stricter protection, to Appendix I under the Washington Convention, which regulates the international trade of plants and animals.

Ueno Zoo supports this initiative and will be holding an event.
