We are recruiting participants for the event "Gorilla Quest ~The Future of the Forest 2026~," held in commemoration of "World Gorilla Day" on September 19th (deadline: September 3rd).

September 24th is World Gorilla Day. It was established in 2017 by the Dian Fossey International Gorilla Foundation with the aim of protecting endangered wild gorillas and raising awareness about the conservation of their habitats, such as forests.
At Ueno Zoo, in conjunction with "World Gorilla Day," various events are planned to raise awareness about the current situation of wild gorillas and to consider what can be done to protect them.
Details for each event will be announced sequentially as they are finalized, but as the first event, we will be holding a workshop for 3rd and 4th graders and their guardians called "Gorilla Quest ~The Future of the Forest 2026~". We are now accepting applications for participants as follows, so please apply.

Content
First, we will observe the gorillas while listening to explanations from animal keeper. We will also learn about the efforts Ueno Zoo is making to protect the gorillas. Afterwards, parents and guardians will participate in physical activities and role-play from the perspectives of various people involved in the environment in which wild gorillas live. Finally, we will consider what we can do to protect gorillas.
