Deer and serow

The exhibit features Sika Deer (Yaku Is Sika Deer deer), which live in herds in the mountains and fields, and Japanese Serow which live alone in territories in mountainous areas. Both are animals that can obtain sufficient nutrition from plants by chewing them back, but in the wild, they seem to cleverly coexist based on their habitats and lifestyles. The serows, which prefer to eat a variety of leaves, are given branches and leaves collected within the park.
