① This is an early-blooming camellia. It is characterized by the fact that the anthers of the stamens have degenerated and there is no yellow pollen. When it first blooms, it is tubular and only slightly open, but when it is in full bloom, it opens wide. Because of its modest appearance, this camellia is often used as a tea ceremony flower.

② Kikutouji (Kiku Winter Solstice) is a classic camellia variety that has been around since the Edo period. It is characterized by its voluminous flowers with white spots on a red background. When the temperature difference becomes large, the flower color turns purple.
