It's the Year of the Horse! New Year's Events at the Cultural Park (Note: Information regarding the end date of the quiz rally has been added.)

Inokashira Park Zoo will be closed for the New Year holidays from Monday, December 29, 2025 to Thursday, January 1, 2026. The zoo will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.
　
The zodiac animal for 2026 is the Domestic Horse. Our park has prepared special events perfect for the Year of the Horse and we look forward to your visit.

Cultural Park Zodiac Quiz Rally, Run Through! Story Maze, Horse Rally

This is a quiz rally themed around the physical characteristics of Domestic Horse. Why not learn about Domestic Horse and other animals by solving quizzes while visiting six spots within the park?
Don't forget to get your stamp at the finish line and take your answer sheet home with you!

New Year's celebratory performances

We will be inviting members of the Asakusa Variety Troupe to welcome the start of the year in a lively manner with a New Year's parade and bamboo curtain performances.

A welcome from director

director and animal mascots will welcome all visitors to the park in the New Year.

New Year's Animal Fortune Telling

The animals at the zoo have been transformed into fortune-telling slips. Why not try your luck for the new year?

　Date and time: Friday, January 2nd and Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, from 12:00 each day
　Location: Plaza in front of Main Gate of the zoo (main park)
　Limited to the first 300 people each day; ends when all spots are filled.

New Year's Zodiac Photo Spot

A photo spot themed around the Year of the Horse will be available. Why not take a commemorative photo to mark your visit to the park in the new year?

　Period: December 26, 2025 (Fri) - February 1, 2026 (Sun)
　Location: Near the gazebo in the main zoo area.

[Year of the Horse Special] A tour of Seibo 's horse sculptures

There are actually many horses in the cultural park. Enjoy the horse sculptures by Seibo Kitamura, from equestrian statues of soldiers to statues of goddesses praying for peace. A curator from the sculpture park will guide you.

New Year's Day - A Tour of Auspicious Animals

Animal Guide will introduce you to some of the auspicious animals at the zoo, perfect for the New Year season.

　Meeting place: In front of Amur Leopard Cat enclosure (Fennec Fox side) at the main zoo.

A tour of New Year's decorations and winter preparations with farm and horticultural staff

We will introduce traditional Japanese winter preparations such as New Year's decorations, snow protection, and frost protection.

　Date and time: January 3, 2026 (Sat) 15:00-15:30
　Meeting place: In front of the gazebo at the main zoo.

New Year's games organized by volunteers

Let's play with traditional Japanese toys.
