Fennec Fox was born! (Updated 5/7: Switched to artificial rearing)

Switched the offspring to artificial rearing (May 7, 2026)

Sarah and Tetsu mated on March 9th of this year (2026), and Sarah's pregnancy was later confirmed by ultrasound.

This is Sarah's first birth. To ensure she could give birth calmly, we monitored her through a surveillance camera, and she gave birth to one cub in the early hours of April 29, 2026. However, Sarah did not show any interest in or care for her offspring, so we switched to artificial feeding.

The baby weighed 41.2g on the day it was born. It drinks milk well, and veterinarians and animal keeper at the animal hospital take turns feeding it and monitoring its health.

Fennec Fox was born on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The mother is "Sara" and the father is "Tetsu," and the baby is male.

We are currently hand-rearing the chicks in the back area. We will provide updates on their progress later.
