Updated March 1, 2026
On February 27, 2026, one Japanese hare arrived at Japanese Hare Inokashira Park Zoo Park (Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture).
Inokashira Park Zoo had been unable to exhibit Japanese Hare since August 2025 due to the death of an individual. The individual that has now arrived at the zoo is a male born on March 19, 2023.
After the quarantine period ends, we will conduct training sessions to help the animals adapt to their new environment. During this time, they will not be visible from the park paths.
We will release it once we have settled into the environment. Please wait a while.
As of March 17, 2026, we are in the process of getting them used to their new environment.
The screens are being removed in stages, and in some cases you may be able to see them from the garden paths.
We ask that you please observe quietly.
