Inokashira Pond

Inokashira Pond, located within Inokashira Park, has long been a beloved pond for many people. It was once blessed with abundant spring water, overgrown with aquatic plants, and home to creatures that are extinct in Tokyo, such as Diving Beetle and Stickleback. The pond has changed dramatically due to the influence of human activity, but in recent years, efforts have been made to restore an environment suitable for living creatures, including dredging and the eradication of invasive species. The Bunkaen Garden is focusing on exhibits and educational outreach activities themed around Inokashira Pond.
