Former Elephant House

This building was once home to Hanako, an Asian Elephant elephant who passed away in 2016 at the age of 69. Hanako came to Japan from Thailand at the age of two to encourage Japanese children after the war. After spending four and a half years at Ueno Zoo, she was relocated to Inokashira Park Zoo, where she was beloved by visitors for 62 years. Her history is also introduced through documents and videos.
