"Animal Care Day" Event: Special Museum Exhibition "The Work of animal keeper"
April 19th is "Animal Care Day," named after the number sequence "419" (which sounds like "shiiku," meaning animal care).
The Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums established this initiative in 2009 with the aim of sparking interest in zoos and aquariums through the work of animal keeper. Since then, Tokyo Metropolitan Zoos and Aquariums (Ueno Zoo, Tama Zoo Inokashira Park Zoo, and Tokyo Sea Life Park) have held various events related to "animal care."
Inokashira Park Zoo will be holding the "animal keeper 's Job Exhibition" as part of its "Animal Keeper's Day" events. Let's take a peek into a day in the life of animal keeper.
This exhibit uses photos and explanations to clearly illustrate animal keeper. Tools used by animal keeper are also on display. There's even a corner where you can "transform" into animal keeper!
