Tokyo Sea Life Park is currently working on cultivating Japanese corals in its "Coral Reef Sea" tank. These corals will continue to be on display at the new aquarium, which is scheduled to reopen in 2028.

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, as part of the "Coral Project" aimed at the opening of the new aquarium, we held an event called "Let's Make Coral Seedlings," where children could learn about coral and coral reefs while having fun.

During the event, we learned together about what corals are and how they grow, and we got a behind-the-scenes look at the tanks where corals are currently displayed in the aquarium. We also made "coral seedlings" by gluing together corals that had broken during collection or transport onto a stone-like base.
After the event, the staff were growing the coral seedlings in the aquarium's backyard.

Starting March 27, 2026, we began exhibiting some of the coral seedlings created for an event in the "Coral Reef Sea" tank. These corals are also planned to be exhibited in the new aquarium, which will reopen in 2028.

The coral seedlings created at the event may be placed in different locations or numbers depending on the breeding conditions.
