Relax and enjoy the zoo: Dream Night & Evening

"Dream Night at the Zoo" is an international initiative that invites children with disabilities and their families to zoos after closing hours for a fun and memorable experience. It began in 1996 at the Rotterdam Zoo in the Netherlands.

Tokyo Metropolitan Zoos and Aquariums support this initiative, and Tama Zoo will hold "Relaxing Zoo Dream Night & Evening" after closing time on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Please take this opportunity to enjoy the park at your leisure.

We will be posting the latest information on this page, so please check it before your visit.

Date and Time

Saturday, June 6, 2026, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM (Admission reception: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM)

No prior registration is required.
The event will be held even in rainy weather, but will be canceled in case of severe weather such as typhoons.
If any cancellations or changes are decided, we will announce them on Tama Zoo official website.

Shuttle bus service

Route

Round trip service from behind Watching Center to the Asian Plains.

Operating hours

Last bus: Departs from the bus stop behind Watching Center at 18:45.
Departure from the Asian Plains bus stop at 19:20.

Due to the structure of the shuttle bus, it is not possible to use it with a stretcher.

How to use

Lion Bus tickets will be distributed at the "Lion Bus Station Ticket Counter".

We do not distribute tickets online.
The event will end once all seats are filled.
Due to the structure of Lion Bus, only one wheelchair is allowed per bus.
We kindly ask for your cooperation in getting out of your wheelchair if possible.
Wheelchairs with a width of less than 74 cm can be accommodated.
We cannot accommodate wheelchairs or stretchers larger than this size.
Please note that depending on the conditions on the day, it may be difficult to see Lion.

How to participate

No prior registration is required.

Admission is free.
Please present the above-mentioned notebook or benefit recipient certificate to the staff Main Gate.
Please ensure all members of your group are present when entering the park.

Please use the paid parking lots near the zoo.

Parking spaces are limited.
There are no discounts available for people with disabilities or similar statuses.
Heavy crowds are expected on the day. Please use public transportation whenever possible.

During the rainy season, sudden downpours can occur. Please prepare rain gear.
Please be aware that there are many slopes due to the hilly terrain.

Accessible toilets (barrier-free toilets) are available in 15 of the 17 toilets within the park.

While we will not be providing sign language interpretation at the event venue, we can handle simple inquiries through written communication.
