Group admission and use

Reservations are required for school (group) use.
Please make a reservation when you come to inspect the property in advance (on-site survey). Reservations can also be made by phone.

School and group programs

Tama Zoo offers the following programs for schools and educational institutions. Please check the information for each program and apply by phone or during a preliminary site visit.

Zoo Visit Program

The content of the programs, such as animal demonstration, insect programs, animal programs, and quiz answer checks, will be decided in consultation with each group based on the purpose of their visit.
Target: All organizations

Pre-learning materials and materials to use on the day of your visit

Having a clear perspective on "what to look at in an animal" will deepen your understanding of animals. We have prepared supplementary materials for visits according to grade level and visit course.
Target: Nursery school kindergarten senior to elementary school lower grades

Online learning materials

We have put together a collection of things such as "observation sheets" to help you observe animals, "a collection of videos that can be used in lessons," and "a collection of teaching materials to make lessons more fun."
Target: All organizations

Online Program: Baby Animals

This is an online class for children studying "Baby Animals," a first-grade Japanese language book from Mitsumura Tosho.
Target: 1st grade elementary school students

In addition to fostering career and work ethics, we hold lectures with the aim of deepening students' understanding of our nursery's business and its social significance.

Report Challenge for Junior and Senior High School Students

Observe the animals on display at Tokyo Metropolitan Zoos and Aquariums, explore any mysteries or interesting phenomena you notice, and compile your findings into a research report to submit to us.
Target audience: Junior high and high school students

Zoo and Aquarium Lectures for Use in Classes (2026 Academic Year)

Every summer vacation, we hold courses on topics such as how to observe living things, information about animals, and nature experiences that will be useful in conducting classes.
Target audience: Mainly elementary school teachers

Online teaching materials that can be used in school education

We have put together a collection of teaching materials aimed at school teachers that will be useful when using zoos and aquariums for learning and when making use of the learning resources at zoos and aquariums. These include a "Collection of Videos to Use in Lessons" that introduces the exhibits and creatures at zoos and aquariums based on a textbook-like perspective, a "Collection of Teaching Materials to Make Lessons Fun" package of teaching materials that combines a variety of videos, images, PDF documents, etc., and various leaflets.
