At Tama Zoo, we are working to breed Scimitar-horned Oryx in cooperation with other zoos and aquariums, based on the management plan of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums. A female Scimitar-horned Oryx named "Kisaragi" will be arriving at our park from Izu Animal Kingdom (Higashiizu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture). Kisaragi is the offspring of a male white oryx named "Mondo," who was transferred from our park to Izu Animal Kingdom in 2012.
