background

Mondo was born at our zoo in June 2011 (Click here for the news.), and it has been growing well since then.

Our zoo is working to breed rare animals through mutual cooperation with other zoos and aquariums. We have recently entered into a breeding loan agreement (*) with Izu Animal Kingdom, and will be moving Mondo there with the aim of breeding him with a female kept at Animal Kingdom.

※About breeding loans
This refers to an animal loan agreement for the purpose of breeding. The aim is to encourage the formation of new pairs and contribute to breeding by moving individuals between zoos.

Our zoo's animal care

Excluding "Mondo," there are eight individuals (1 male and 7 females).
