Summer Special Event: "Summer Night @ Tama Zoo 2026 - Let's gaze up at the summer night sky together"

Tama Zoo will hold the "Summer Night @Tama Zoo 2026," which will open for six days in August by extending the opening hours by 3 hours until 8 PM. Please take your time and enjoy the cooled interior of the park.

Restaurant and gift shop operations

We will be extending the operating hours of our restaurants and gift shops. Enjoy a meal or drink while exploring the park on a summer evening.

Special Program

Nighttime keeper talk

The zookeepers will give keeper talk focusing on the behavior and ecology of nocturnal animals. You might hear some fascinating facts about nocturnal animals that only the zookeepers know.
Details such as the start time and location will be announced at a later date.

Bat watching

Observing bats flying through the night sky

In the darkened park, you'll observe wild Japanese Japanese Pipistrelle flying through the night sky together with the staff. This activity allows you to learn about the ecology of bats while observing them in their natural habitat.

*The schedule will change to coincide with sunset. The new schedule will be announced via the park's public address system on the day of the event.

Requests and Precautions for All Visitors

Animal exhibits may be canceled or changed depending on the animals' condition, weather, etc.
The shuttle bus will not operate during the extended hours. It will operate as usual until 3:50 PM.
Some areas will be closed to the public after the animals' exhibit hours have ended.
Please refrain from using flash photography on animals.
Do not shine flashlights or lights at animals; use them only to illuminate your path.
Please refrain from using insect repellent products in the insectarium.
There is no parking available at our park. Nearby parking lots are expected to be crowded, so we recommend using public transportation.
