Self-guided materials

We have a variety of teaching materials and resources available for those who want to enjoy observing the animals at Tama Zoo at their own pace.

Observation sheet

Watching Center distributes free "observation sheets" to help you observe animals.
(School groups should use the downloadable version.)

When you observe animals using the observation sheet as a guide, you will naturally begin to see characteristics that you had not noticed before.
It can be enjoyed by everyone from small children to adults.

For small children and those who want to watch casually

Enjoy the little discoveries you make as you explore the front page. You don't have to worry about answering every question.

If you want to take a closer look

Take your time and look at the back as well. You will gradually notice things that you wouldn't have noticed in a short time. Animals' behavior changes depending on the weather and time of day. Some animals' physical characteristics change with the season and their growth. If you use the same sheet repeatedly, you will be able to learn more about the animal. Try observing it multiple times, not just once.

If you would like to use it for field trips or extracurricular activities,
