Tama Zoo is pleased to announce that its Snow Leopard, Kobo (male), will be moved to Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa City.

Our zoo is working with other breeding facilities to promote the breeding of Snow Leopard, a rare animal.
Based on the Snow Leopard management plan of the Biodiversity Committee of Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums Association of Zoos and Aquariums (a public interest incorporated association), the leopards will be moved on a breeding loan* in order to aim for further breeding.
※About breeding loans
A contract to lease an animal for the purpose of breeding.
The aim is to transfer individuals between zoos to form new pairs and contribute to breeding.
