To coincide with "World Migratory Bird Day*", Tama Zoo will be hosting a special talk show introducing the joys of birdwatching.
Birdwatching is something anyone can easily enjoy, even without specialized knowledge or equipment. In this event, we will introduce ways to enjoy birdwatching within Tama Zoo, and our staff members who have visited various birdwatching spots throughout Japan will share the charm of birdwatching while traveling.
This day, designated by the United Nations on the second Saturday of May and October each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of migratory birds and the importance of their conservation. On this day, various organizations around the world hold events such as birdwatching sessions and lectures on the theme of migratory birds.

While showing footage taken at various observation spots across Japan, including Ramsar Convention wetlands, I will discuss the appeal of birdwatching and the importance of areas visited by wild birds.
