The Ogasawara Islands are oceanic islands located approximately 1,000 km south of the Japanese archipelago; they have never been connected to a continent since their formation.Because the islands are home to many endemic and rare species, the Tokyo Metropolitan Zoos and Aquariums (Ueno Zoo, Tama Zoo, Inokashira Park Zoo, Tokyo Sea Life Park) have been working to conserve these species by raising and exhibiting Ogasawara wildlife in collaboration with local partners.

Starting Sunday, February 8, 2026, the “Ogasawara Friends Stamp Rally,” organized by Ogasawara Village, Tokyo, will be held. The 11 participating locations include the Tokyo Metropolitan Zoos and Aquariums (Ueno Zoo, Tama Zoo, Tokyo Sea Life Park, Inokashira Park Zoo).

Kawakawa Why not join the digital stamp rally using your smartphone, visit spots connected to the Ogasawara Islands, and come meet the Ogasawara creatures at these four zoos and aquariums?
