Hatto the Scimitar-horned Oryx is coming to the zoo from Hamura Zoo

At Tama Zoo, in accordance with the management plan of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums, we are working to breed Scimitar-horned Oryx through mutual cooperation with other zoos and aquariums. This time, a Scimitar-horned Oryx oryx named "Hatto" will be arriving at Tama Zoological Park from Hamura City Zoological Park (Hamura City, Tokyo).

Depending on the animals' condition, the transfer may be postponed or canceled.
If the event is postponed or canceled, we will announce it on Tama Zoo official website.

About the release

After arriving at the zoo, the zebras and oryx will undergo quarantine in a private facility within Domestic Horse and oryx enclosure for a period of time. After quarantine, they will be put on display in the sub-paddock adjacent to the main enclosure.
