Tokyo Friends of the Zoo

Animals and Zoos
Winter 2019 issue (No.713)

As a result of improvements to the breeding environment at Ueno Zoo, kingfisher chicks have grown and left the nest for the first time in 14 years.
Tama Zoo introduces the work of Wildlife Conservatio Center which investigates animals' breeding seasons based on hormone levels.
We will also be sharing information on how to use greenery to make zoos more attractive, as well as a report on the breeding of West African Dwarf Crocodile.
