Stuffed animals supervised by the zookeepers
Every year Tokyo Zoological Park Society, produces and sells original stuffed animals based on the animals of the Chinese zodiac.
The design is carefully crafted and completed after being supervised by the animal caretakers.
This stuffed animal is packed with the attention to detail that you'd expect from a zoo or aquarium.
Special menu made with staff ideas
We are asking our staff for ideas for a new, slightly more eccentric drink.
One of them has been commercialized.
The result was the Breeding Day drink, "Snow Leopard Lurking, Black Sesame Rock Latte."
Snow Leopard leopard marshmallows are an original design from Tama Zoo supervised by animal keeper.
This is an exquisite item that embodies animal keeper' dedication.

Reducing plastic packaging
Of the packaging materials used to provide food at zoos and aquariums, we have reduced the number of plastic materials from 70 types (2019) to four currently.
Additionally, we are switching to FSC-certified paper products such as disposable chopsticks and drinking cups whenever possible.
Providing environmentally friendly menus
Between November and February every year, Ueno Zoo and Tama Zoo serve rice grown by storks in their restaurants.
Stork-grown rice is rice cultivated using farming methods that create an environment conducive to the growth of creatures that serve as food for storks and support their return to the wild.
By letting visitors know about the relationship between storks and rice, we hope to support the environment in which this species and other living creatures live.
