Animals and Zoos
Summer 2005 issue (No.659)
The opening article, "A Day in animal keeper," zooms in on African Bush Elephant at Tama Zoo and those in charge!
"Recollections: Ueno Zoo on those days" features a collection of posthumous writings by the late Yoshiko Sawada, who worked at Ueno Zoo from 1940 to 1982, about her memories of the zoo. The book features a commemorative photo of the elephants that were to be culled, as well as a passage describing Ueno Ueno Zoo as the war drew to a close.
