Veterinarians work in cooperation with animal care staff to manage animal hygiene and implement disease prevention measures, as well as strive to detect abnormalities early and provide appropriate treatment. They also cooperate in wildlife conservation activities, such as quarantine work, pathological autopsies, specimen preservation, research and development of veterinary techniques, and infectious disease investigations.
