We would like to inform you of the following regarding Giant Panda "Ri Ri" and "Shin Shin," and their two cubs "Xiao Xiao" and "Lei Lei," who were born on June 23, 2021.

Lili's current situation

Li Li's health is good.

The hamsters are primarily fed bamboo such as Moso bamboo, Shino bamboo, and Madake bamboo, with panda dumplings, carrots, and apples given as supplements as needed.

Since April, bamboo shoots have become available, so we've been feeding them almost every day, including those harvested within the park and at Tama Zoo, and they eat them well. We change their enclosure according to the animals' condition and the weather, and although there are days when the temperature rises, we try to keep them outdoors as much as possible.

As of April 25, 2023, Leelee's weight was measured at 133.5 kg.

Shinshin's current situation

Shinshin is in good health.

We primarily feed her bamboo such as Moso bamboo, Shino bamboo, and Madake bamboo, and she also readily eats panda dumplings, carrots, and apples as supplements. The amount of food we give her is adjusted as needed according to her eating habits and changes in her weight.

Since April, bamboo shoots have become available, so we've been feeding them to her almost every day, including those harvested within the park and at Tama Zoo, and she eats them well. On the evening of March 19th, she was separated from Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei and is now living alone, but she is able to forage and rest calmly, and there are no particular problems.

As of April 25, 2023, Shinshin's weight was measured at 123.2 kg.

Updates on Xiaoxiao and Leilei

Both animals are in good health and eating well. Although there may be some difference in their weight, both are gaining weight steadily.

On the evening of March 19th, Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei separated from their mother, Xing Xing, and began living together on their own. Immediately after separating from their mother, they were seen wandering around indoors and in the enclosure, but they have now settled down and are feeding and resting just as they did before separating from their mother.

Since their weight has been steadily increasing since they were weaned, we stopped giving them formula milk on April 5th and increased the amount of panda dumplings they receive. We are also giving them 50 grams of apples and carrots per day, which they are eating well.

Now that April has arrived and bamboo shoots are available, we've been feeding them to the animals almost every day, including those harvested within the park and at Tama Zoo However, they rarely eat them all like the adults, and often leave the tougher parts behind.

We've marked Xiao Xiao's back to allow us to review video footage of her nighttime activities and to clearly identify her in surveillance camera footage. She doesn't seem to mind the mark.
