We would like to inform you of the following regarding Giant Panda "Ri Ri" and "Shin Shin," and their two cubs "Xiao Xiao" and "Lei Lei," who were born on June 23, 2021.

Lili's current situation

Li Li's health is good.

We primarily feed them bamboo such as Moso bamboo, Shino bamboo, and Madake bamboo, and supplement their diet with panda dumplings, carrots, and apples as needed.

Since October 5th, we have been regularly measuring Leelee's blood pressure as one indicator of his health. In order to ensure stable blood pressure measurements, we have trimmed some of the fur on his left arm, but Leelee does not seem to mind.

We change the enclosure location according to the animals' condition and the weather, but now that the weather is becoming more comfortable for pandas, we are letting them out outdoors more often.

As of November 15, 2023, Leelee's weight was measured at 130.8 kg.

Shinshin's current situation

There have been no major changes in Shinshin's health.

Since September 20th, we have continued to monitor her blood pressure regularly and administer medication, while also making adjustments to the dosage and taking other measures to improve her hypertension. To ensure stable blood pressure measurements, we have trimmed some of the hair on her left arm, but Shinshin does not seem to mind.

We change the enclosure location according to the animals' condition and the weather, but now that the weather is more comfortable for pandas, we are letting them out outdoors more often. Outdoor zookeeping resumed on opening days from October 20th, and Take has been seen calmly foraging and resting.

We primarily feed them bamboo such as Moso bamboo, Shino bamboo, and Madake bamboo, and supplement their diet with panda dumplings, carrots, and apples as needed. There have been no particular changes in their foraging or behavior, and they are doing well.

As of November 15, 2023, Shinshin's weight was measured at 121.5 kg.

Updates on Xiaoxiao and Leilei

Both animals are in good health and feeding condition.

They are fed mainly bamboo such as moso bamboo, shinotake bamboo, and Madake bamboo, with side dishes such as panda dumplings, carrots, and apples given as needed.

We change the enclosure location according to the animals' condition and the weather, but now that the weather is becoming more comfortable for pandas, we are letting them out outdoors more often.

Xiao Xiao began Eurasian Moorhen training (*) on July 16, 2023, and Lei Lei began on July 21. Through repeated training, it becomes possible to safely handle the pandas and perform health management such as blood sampling with minimal stress. As a result of intensive training, Xiao Xiao was able to have her first blood drawn on October 29. Lei Lei's training resumed on November 3 and is progressing smoothly.

We've marked Xiao Xiao's back to allow us to review video footage of her nighttime activities and to clearly identify her in surveillance camera footage. She doesn't seem to mind the mark.

Training animals to exhibit spontaneous behavior is aimed at ensuring their healthy living and safe working conditions for humans.
