At Ueno Zoo, visitors are currently guided to view Giant Panda in the order they line up. Please be advised that the viewing procedure will change from April 16, 2024.

Target animals
Giant PandaRi Ri (male) was born on August 16, 2005, at the Wolong Conservation Center in China.
Shinshin (female) was born on July 3, 2005, at the Wolong Conservation Center in China.

Xiaoxiao (male) was born on June 23, 2021 Ueno Zoo
Lei Lei (female) was born on June 23, 2021 Ueno Zoo
Opening time
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
*The queue for viewing usually closes at 3:30 PM for Xiaoxiao and Leilei, and at 4:00 PM for Lili.
Also, depending on the crowd situation on the day, we may close registration earlier than the usual closing time.
*Please note that the schedule may change without notice depending on the animals' health condition, etc.
*Depending on the animals and preparation status, the viewing may begin earlier than 10:00 AM.

How to view
Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei will be viewed in designated areas ①, ②, and ③ as shown in the diagram below. Please follow the instructions of the staff when moving between areas. For Li Li, both indoors and outdoors are open to the public, but you may be asked to line up depending on the crowd situation.
Viewing Route

*The enclosures (exhibition areas) for Xiaoxiao and Leilei will be rotated periodically.
*Please note that there are separate entrances for viewing Xiao Xiao, Lei Lei, and Li Li. You cannot view them at the same time.
*If you wish to view Xiaoxiao and Leilei, please line up at the entrance on the Children's Zoo side or the entrance on West Garden rest area side (see the surrounding area map below).
*At viewing areas ①, ②, and ③ for Xiaoxiao and Leilei, the number of viewers and viewing time per area will be limited.
Viewing capacity: Approximately 25 people at most. Viewing time: Approximately 1 minute per area.
*Please move to locations ①, ②, and ③ in the diagram above in order, as instructed by the staff. The staff will guide you on when to move.
*If you are queuing outside "Panda Forest," please follow the instructions and guidance of the staff at the site.
*The viewing queue may change depending on the crowd situation.
*Viewing methods may change without notice.

Precautions
- To prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all visitors, please refrain from running in the park and proceed with your visit calmly.
- Even within the designated viewing hours, Giant Panda may be hidden from view, or their exhibit may be suddenly closed for health reasons, meaning you may not be able to see them.
- Photography is permitted, but flash photography is prohibited. Please observe this rule to avoid startling the animals. Also, as viewing time is limited, please refrain from staying in the same spot for extended periods to take photos, and be considerate of others while viewing the animals.
- Please refrain from making loud noises or voices in the viewing area so as not to startle the animals.
- Please follow the guidance and instructions of the staff while viewing the exhibits. We ask that you refrain from any behavior that may disturb other visitors.
