Three Pallas' Cat 's cat cubs were born at Ueno Zoo, the first births since 2021. The father came from Novosibirsk Zoo in Russia, and the mother came from Saitama Children's Zoo in 2018 and 2019, respectively. This is the second time this pair has bred.
From Tuesday, June 25, 2024, we plan to house the mother and baby in the exhibit room on the first floor of Small Mammal House. However, in order to allow them to acclimate to the new environment, we will temporarily cover the glass and install a barrier to prevent people from entering. You will not be able to see them during this adjustment period, but we will gradually ease the restrictions, such as the covering, as we observe the mother and baby's condition.

Figa (male) and Abricorse (female), who are on display with their mother in Small Mammal House have hearty appetites and now weigh about 2 kg. They are frequently observed playing together. To tell the two apart, pay attention to the pattern on their tails. Figa has a single ring pattern on his tail, while Abricorse has a double ring pattern.
Saffron (female), who is hospitalized due to a fracture, is still receiving treatment, but like the two animals currently on display, she has a hearty appetite, is gaining weight steadily, and is in very good spirits.
The father and his three cubs were given nicknames based on the mother's name, "Primula" (which means "primrose" in Russian), as follows:
| Nickname | Russian spelling | meaning |
| father | Kryon | cklen | Maple |
| Offspring: Male | Figa | фига | fig |
| Child: Female ① | Aburi Course | abrikos | Apricot |
| Child: Female 2 | saffron | шафран | Crocus |
