Giant Panda cub born on June 12, 2017, is growing well. Now 30 days old, its black and white panda markings are becoming more and more distinct.
From 10:41 a.m. to 10:58 a.m. on July 12, a fifth physical examination was conducted, and the animal's health condition was good. Its weight was 1,147.8 grams (compared to 607.9 grams on July 2), and its length was 29.5 centimeters (compared to 23.4 centimeters on July 2).
The calf naturally nursed six times a day, counting from the afternoon of July 11th, with assistance from the caretaker once. Each feeding lasted 1-2 minutes.
Similarly, Shin Shin ate 10 times during the day, consisting of bamboo leaves, bamboo shoots, panda dumplings, apples, and carrots. She drank water twice, totaling about 1 liter.
It is said that Giant Panda use 3 to 4 of their 4 nipples when raising their young, but Shin Shin is currently mainly using her right nipple. However, since this may not be sufficient, staff members are also massaging her left nipple to ensure that milk is being produced without any problems.
According to Chinese experts, the pup is growing slightly above average. Its health is good, but until it is 3-4 months old, when it is said that the pup can sleep next to its parents, it will continue to be carefully observed and cared for 24 hours a day.
We will be accepting name suggestions for the baby from the public, with the application period scheduled to begin on Friday, July 28, 2017. Further details will be announced later.
