Updated March 8, 2025:We plan to change the viewing method for "Xiaoxiao" and "Leilei" starting March 11, 2025 (Tuesday). Please check here for details.
Following
the return of Giant Panda "Ri Ri" and "Shin Shin," the viewing methods for Giant Panda "Xiao Xiao" and "Lei Lei" will change from Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Opening hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- The queue for viewing usually closes at 3:30 PM. Depending on the crowd situation on the day, it may close earlier than the usual time.
- Please note that changes may be made without prior notice depending on the animals' health condition.
- Depending on the animals and preparation status, the viewing may begin earlier than 10:00 AM.
Viewing location: Giant Panda exhibit in "Panda Forest" within the West West Garden Ueno Zoo Zoo
Viewing Instructions
- Please line up in the viewing queue at the entrance on the children's zoo side.
- The viewing area will be divided into several sections.
- You will be moved to the next area in about one minute, so please follow the instructions of the staff.
- If you are queuing outside "Panda Forest," please follow the instructions and guidance of the staff at the site.
*The enclosures (exhibition areas) for Xiaoxiao and Leilei will be rotated periodically. *The viewing line may change depending on the crowd situation. *Viewing methods may change without notice.
Precautions
- To prevent accidents and ensure everyone's safety, please do not run in the park and come calmly.
- Even within the designated viewing hours, Giant Panda may be hidden from view, or their exhibit may be suddenly closed for health reasons, meaning you may not be able to see them.
- Photography is permitted, but flash photography is prohibited. Please observe this rule to avoid startling the animals. Also, as viewing time is limited, please refrain from staying in the same spot for extended periods to take photos, and be considerate of others while viewing the animals.
- Please refrain from making loud noises or voices in the viewing area so as not to startle the animals.
- Please follow the guidance and instructions of the staff while viewing the exhibits. We ask that you refrain from any behavior that may disturb other visitors.
