The strength in its hind legs has increased further, and its range of movement on all fours has expanded. It can also occasionally be seen standing on two legs, placing its front paws on fences and other supports. Its eye movements as it surveys its surroundings are clearly visible, suggesting that its vision is gradually improving. In addition to the upper and lower canines, other teeth, such as the front and rear molars, have also been observed growing in. As its teeth grow, it can also be seen chewing on the bamboo given to its mother and the fence of the birthing room.
Mother Shin Shin continues to spend her days indoors with her offspring. She diligently cares for her baby by licking it, nursing it, and helping it defecate, while also resting and eating the rest of the time.
Until the end of August, both mother and baby stayed in the birthing room, but now they are free to come and go from indoor exhibition room 2 and the bedroom throughout the day (they are not open to the public). Room 3 is also accessible during the daytime. The mother, Xing Xing, has been seen in these rooms breastfeeding her offspring, resting while leaving them behind, and foraging for food.
