Since late July, Xiang Xiang has mainly spent her time in the air-conditioned indoor enclosure No. 5 on hot days. She is sometimes taken to the outdoor enclosure D for cleaning and feeding, but at other times she is allowed to go in and out freely between the cool indoors and the outdoor enclosure, so that she can choose the place that is most comfortable for her.

Xiang Xiang has grown steadily and now weighs over 60 kg. She has started to behave like an adult, resting for 11 to 16 hours a day and spending the rest of the time foraging and being active.

Furthermore, Xiang Xiang's Eurasian Moorhen training (*), which began on February 4th, is progressing smoothly, and a blood sample was successfully taken on July 8th.

Xiang Xiang's diet mainly consists of bamboo and bamboo grass, and in addition, like Ri Ri and Shin Shin, she is also given apples, carrots, panda dumplings, and pellets.

On August 5, 2019 (784 days old), the weight was measured at 60.4 kg (a decrease of 0.7 kg from the 61.1 kg measured on July 5).

Ri Ri and Shin Shin are both in good health and have not experienced any major changes. As there have been cases of Giant Panda going into estrus in the fall, we are continuing to carefully monitor them while maintaining regular contact with experts in China, as we have done before.
