The baby Giraffe (female), the first to be born at Ueno Zoo in 37 years, is growing well on the milk provided by animal keeper and has recently started eating leaves as well (see here for the birth announcement).
As our baby turns two months old, we're holding a name vote. Please vote for the name you think is most suitable from the three options provided!

Name candidates 1. Pomme means "apple" in French. 2. Hiyuri: Named after her father "Hinata" and mother "Ringo". 3. Hikari is the name of an apple variety. It also goes well with the father's name, "Hinata."

The public viewing date for the baby Giraffe is yet to be determined, but we will inform you as soon as it is decided.

There are no plans for a naming ceremony. Also, there will be no commemorative gifts or presents for those who submitted the winning name. Thank you for your understanding.
