Xiang Xiang now behaves like an adult, resting for 10 to 15 hours a day and spending the rest of the time foraging and other activities. Since June, she has shown an increase in rest time and a decrease in foraging time, which is her summer behavior pattern.

Although still smaller than adult specimens, they are growing steadily.

Since August 25th, Xiang Xiang has been spending her days in indoor rooms 3 and 4, and in indoor room 2 since her last feeding. In addition to foraging for bamboo, she can also be seen bathing and resting on the platform.

On August 24th, Ri Ri and Shin Shin were moved to the "Panda Forest" in West Garden and are now being kept individually in the panda enclosure in East Garden. However, they don't seem to mind and are calm.

Furthermore, we are continuing Xiang Xiang's Eurasian Moorhen training, which we started on February 4, 2019 (training to encourage animals to behave spontaneously, with the aim of ensuring the healthy upbringing of animals and the safe working conditions of humans).

On September 15, 2020 (1,191 days old), the measurement showed a weight of 78.6 kg.

Immediately after moving to the "Panda Forest "West Garden, Ri Ri and Shin Shin seemed restless due to the unfamiliar environment. Their bamboo consumption temporarily decreased, and they reacted sensitively to surrounding noises. However, they gradually got used to their new facility.
In a pre-opening simulation conducted from September 3rd to 5th in preparation for the public opening, the animals were observed calmly foraging and resting even in front of staff members acting as visitors, and they have remained calm since September 8th when the public opening began.
