Xiang Xiang now behaves like an adult, resting for 12 to 17 hours a day and spending the rest of the time foraging and other activities.

Although still smaller than adult specimens, they are growing steadily.

As temperatures have dropped and it's getting cooler, the animals spend their daytime hours in outdoor enclosure A on sunny days, and indoors on rainy days and at night. They can be seen foraging for bamboo, taking baths, and resting on the platform.

Furthermore, we are continuing Xiang Xiang's Eurasian Moorhen training, which we started on February 4, 2019 (training to encourage animals to behave spontaneously, with the aim of ensuring the healthy upbringing of animals and the safe working conditions of humans).

On October 5, 2020 (1,211 days old), the measurement showed a weight of 77.2 kg.

It's been a month and a half since Ri Ri and Shin Shin moved to the "Panda Forest" in West Garden. They seem to have gotten used to their new facility, and we're now able to conduct examinations such as weight measurements and training. From now on, we will proceed with preparations for their display in the outdoor enclosure.

*As a general rule, Xiang Xiang's physical examination is conducted on days ending in "5" (it may also be conducted on other days).

*Announcements will be made on the website twice a month, around 3 PM on the day following a park closure.
　The scheduled dates for October 2020 are the 13th (Tue) and 27th (Tue), and for November 2020 are the 10th (Tue) and 25th (Wed).
