Ueno Zoo is exhibiting Giant Panda "Ri Ri" (male) and "Shin Shin" (female) in its newly opened "Panda Forest" area.
Until now, the animals had been exhibited indoors due to the heat, but as the temperature has started to drop, we have been using the park's closing days to observe the two animals and gradually expand the area they can move around in, preparing for outdoor exhibiting.
Regarding Shin Shin, we will begin outdoor exhibiting on the following dates. However, for the time being, we will allow her to move freely between the outdoors and indoors to observe her condition, so she may not be visible outdoors at times. Also, depending on the animal's condition, we may change the exhibit to indoors.
We will continue to monitor Ri Ri's condition and prepare for outdoor exhibition, and we will inform you again when the outdoor exhibition begins.Ri Ri is ready, so we will begin his outdoor exhibit on November 3rd.
Outdoor exhibition start date: October 27, 2020 (Tuesday), November 3rd (Tuesday/holiday)
The animal in question is Giant Panda "Shin Shin".
