background
Sumatran Tiger is a rare subspecies of tiger, with an estimated population of around 400 individuals living only on the Indonesian island of Kawakawa. Zoos in Japan are working together to facilitate breeding by moving breedable Sumatran Tiger to create pairs.
We are pleased to announce that "Mimpi" will be arriving at our zoo from Nogeyama Zoo through a breeding loan (*). By creating a new pair with "Bran," a male tiger we currently keep, we will be working towards breeding Sumatran Tiger.

※About breeding loans

The aim is to transfer individuals between zoos to form new pairs and contribute to breeding.
