As previously announced, we began exhibiting our Asian Elephant calf, "Arun," on December 1, 2020 (please see
this page for details on the naming decision).
As both mother and child are in good condition, we will extend the viewing hours starting December 13th (Sunday).
Taking photos or videos from within the viewing area remains prohibited. Please cooperate by observing proper etiquette.
We will continue to consider extending the viewing hours for the mother and cub. Any further changes will be announced on this page and on
Ueno Zoo official Twitter account.
*Please note that the event may be canceled or shortened due to the spread of COVID-19 or the health status of mothers and children.
